Its cooler wetter climate once made it an area of thriving dairies, market gardens and orchards, but today many of those those who live in the small rural properties dotted along the creek and over its green hillsides commute elsewhere to work while their children attend excellent local schools.
Among them are nurses, teachers, engineers, builders, artists, government workers, entertainers, accountants, retirees and trades people. A few properties are still used commercially with many residents enjoy growing their own fruit and vegetables. Hay is also grown and cut on many properties as stock feed
All share an appreciation for the peaceful natural environment, clean air, scenic beauty, frequent encounters with wildlife and the sense of belonging to a community which is evident at social events or in times of need.
