Service and Program Users Rights and Responsibilities

  • ACE (Adult Community Education) 
    Courses run each term to develop IT and practical skills
  • Aldgate Valley Organic Food Co-op (more info)
    You and your family can eat healthy, organic produce at a reasonable cost
  • Blokes' Club
    A chance for men of all ages to get together for a chat over a game of pool, or cards, or chess or occasional barbeques. 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month 1.00 - 3.00pm at the Bridgewater Social Club. Transport available if required.
  • Book Shed (more info)
    A second hand book shed run by volunteers with the proceeds supporting community programmes
  • Bounce Fitness Class 
    Exercise and fitness, for all fitness levels (45 min. sessions, combination aerobic, circuit, yoga)
  • Broadband For Seniors Kiosk
    This free initiative funded by the Australian Government is available at The Hut. Seniors can use the Internet, send emails, improve their skills. Tutor available
  • Bus Hire
  • Buses available for hire to Community groups

  • A neighbourly support programme providing short term support, home help and transport
  • Chair Yoga
    Gentle yoga for older people at The Hut on Saturday mornings from 10.00am - 11.15am with transport provided by the community bus
  • Community Fun and Fitness
    Classes on Tuesdays, 9.00 - 10.00am at the Bridgewater Hall in conjunction with the Adelaide Hills Community Health Service
  • Community Information
    A personal or phone service providing information on a wide range of community services
  • Computer Recycling (ITShare) 
    Mondays and Tuesdays 9.30am - 5.00pm - Bridgewater Hall (8339 3116) Computers are rebuilt and recycled and then made available to local residents or sent to developing countries
  • Computer Training
    One-on-one training for people wishing to learn to use a computer, iPad or to access the Internet
  • Financial Assistance
    Emergency assistance for people in need

  • Foundation Skills Courses 
    Courses for people wishing to re-enter the workforce or improve their skills and confidence to explore other options such as volunteering, further study, etc. They are however open to all adults in the Hills

    The Aldgate Valley Community Hall with stage, kitchen, toilets accommodates 50 people
  • Hills Volunteering 
    Assisting other community organisations to access volunteers
  • Internet Access
    Computers available for Internet use.   Bookings essential and a donation appreciated
  • Meeting Rooms For Hire
    Rooms of various sizes available at The Hut Community Centre and at the Aldgate Valley Community Hall
  • MensMoves
    A Thursday morning healthy lifestyle program for men
  • Mobile Phone Lessons
    Learn how to use your mobile phone: make and receive calls; send and receive text messages; take, store, send, receive photos;  plus video calling too. One-on-one lessons
  • MoveIt 
    Linking people of all ages into physical activity options in the community.    Activities include aqua exercise, dancing (belly, hip hop, funk, street Latin and reggaeton, tap), fitball, hula hoop. juggling, stretch/ballet, chair yoga
  • Music For Seniors
    A weekly group meets at the Grace Lutheran Church, Bridgewater to learn, practise, perform (and enjoy) a range of musical instruments
  • Mystery Trips 
    A group respite service providing weekly outings in conjunction with Adelaide Hills Council
  • No Interest Loans Scheme (Hills NILS®) (more info)
    NILS® offers no interest loans to people who live on a low income, to buy essential household goods such as a fridge, washing machine or lounge
  • Out and About Group
    A social group for women, meeting monthly for lunch at various restaurants
  • Personal Transport
    Volunteer drivers provide transport to appointments (Caring in our Community)
  • Plant Rescue (more info)
    We re-pot, graft, propogate, and offer TLC to plants before selling them to the community. Volunteers attend to the plants each Tuesday and Thursday from 9.00am to 3.00pm
  • Shopping Buses
    A door-to-door shopping service for local residents in conjunction with Adelaide Hills Council
  • Special Events 
    Volunteers help at events such as Tour Down Under,
    Stirling Christmas Pageant, etc.
  • Strength and Balance (Falls Prevention)
    A physical activity program for older people
  • Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Stirling, Monday and Friday mornings at Woodside
  • Tax Help
    Provides free help with taxation returns for people on low incomes (available July to October)
  • The Club
    An informal gathering every Tuesday, 10.00am -2.00pm for older women and men who enjoy the opportunity to meet regularly to play games, have lunch and go on outings. Morning tea and lunch, $9.00

  • Walking Groups
    Walking groups with different levels of difficulty are based at The Hut
    • Sunday (1st in the month) at 9.00am for 2 hours
    • Monday at 9.00am for 1 hour
    • Tuesday at 1.00pm for 1 hour 
    • Wednesday at 9.00am for 1 hour
    • Friday at 9.00am for 2 hours
  • Wheelchair for Loan
    Folding wheelchair available - small donation
  • Workshops and Forums
    One-off events dealing with a wide range of topics
