Whyalla Swimming  Club

Welcome to the Whyalla Swimming Club website.

Whyalla Swimming Club was established in the 1930’s.

The Aims of the Club are:

  • To teach the members to swim the fours strokes correctly
    Freestyle ~ Backstroke ~ Breaststroke ~ Butterfly
  • To encourage members to swim competitively and achieve their full potential (Personal Best times)
  • To encourage its members to support the club positively and be proud of it
  • To improve its standing with Swimming SA Trophies (Gynell Trophy)

We have two squads

Junior Squads – Within the junior squads we have 4 levels
(training – Monday and Thursday)

·         Tadpoles – 2 session (5.30pm to 6.00pm) and (6.00pm to 6.30pm)

·         Penguins – (5.30pm to 6.30pm)

·         Seals – (5.30pm to 6.30pm)

·         Dolphins– (5.30pm to 6.30pm)

 

Senior Squads – Within the Senior squads we have 3 levels

(Winter training – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)

Training sessions increase for the Summer Circuit competition.

For interest in the senior squads contact junior coach to assess swimming proficancy

·         Intermediate

·         Senior

·         National Development

We have swimmers aged from 5 years to 50+.

Coaching is available all year round at the indoor pool.

Junior and Senior Squads reflect stroke proficiency not age.
