About West Lakes and Districts Little Athletics Centre
An incorporated body, the WLDLAC is a Little Athletics Centre in the Western Suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. At the WLDLAC our main objective is to create an atmosphere that supports children in achieving their personal best whilst also meeting the social needs of the young athlete.
As volunteers, we provide a variety of activities and skills such as running, jumping and throwing that help develop strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance (the basic requirements of all sports). Athletes are encouraged to improve on their own time or distances rather than to be the best athlete. At WLDLAC we offer sprints, hurdles, relays, optional walks, middle distance, shot put, discus, javelin, long jump and high jump.
A modified program is offered to Tiny Tots focussing on fun and games and is suitable for children from ages 3-5yrs. At this stage there is a vacancy for Tiny Tots Coordinator. The committee would love to hear from you if you are interested in volunteering for this role.
