web of dreams

Web of Dreams

The Web of Dreams is based on the Indian Dream Catcher. Bereaved parents can place a star with their baby's name written on it in memory of their baby who died. Cards with a photo of the Web of Dreams are available from SANDS (SA) - we do ask for a small donation to cover costs. The Web of Dreams is copyright to SANDS (SA).

If you would like a star hung in memory of your baby please email us and request this - leave the following details - name of baby, birth/death date. If you would like to add a few words - please give this information too.

Explanation

The outer circle is representative of the immense love bereaved parents have for their baby/ies when they die.The threads of web leading towards the centre heart is representative of the many pathways of grief bereaved parents will travel along before they eventually place the love, memories and the dreams in the safe place of their own heart. The web within the heart is representative of all the love and dreams for their baby which will continue to re-emerge throughout the bereaved parents own lives. The feather is a symbol of nature, reminding us to take care of ourselves and those who are precious to us. The stars we place on the Web of Dreams are a memento of our own baby/ies who have died, a reminder of the importance of the event and how our baby/ies short life has enriched our own.
