Telephone
support and home visits
Volunteer Support
Workers are trained listeners who are available for telephone support
and home/hospital visits. Telephone numbers for Support Workers
are listed on the back of the newsletter.
Newsletter
A newsletter
is produced monthly and contains poems, letters, articles from bereaved
parents and a 'Precious Anniversaries' column. If you would like
to receive a copy Email us with your details - confidentiality is
respected.
Support
Meetings
Held on the
second Tuesday of each month, starting at 7.30 p.m. and finishing
promptly at 9:30 p.m. These meetings are held at Glandore Community
Centre, 25 Naldera Street, Glandore.
Support meetings
are available to bereaved parents, their family, or friends who
are supporting them in their grief.
Support meetings
are also held in the Gawler region on the fourth Tuesday of each
month. from
7.15pm to 9.00pm

Coffee
Mornings
Held in someone's
home during the day on a bi-monthly basis. Coffee mornings are less
formal than support meetings. Bereaved parents are able to bring
their subsequent or surviving children. Discussion is not necessarily
about the baby who died but it is accepted that all who attend are
either bereaved parents or people who are supporting bereaved parents.
Visits
to health professionals
SANDS volunteers
are available to speak to health professionals, welfare workers
and other interested members of the community about the needs of
bereaved parents.
Library
The library
is available for bereaved parents or relatives to borrow books.
The library is based at the Glandore Community Centre and is managed
by a SANDS volunteer.
