Profile
South Augusta was formed in 1912 and is the oldest existing club in Port Augusta.
South Augusta has the largest licensed clubrooms in Port Augusta and caters for weddings and other functions throughout the town.
Counter Teas are available every Friday as well as after club games throughout the season. At $12 the club boasts the cheapest 3 course meal in the town.
The meal includes soup, choice of steak, snitzel and fish for main course and icecream and topping for sweets. Main courses also change from time to time.
The club also has a Happy Hours from 5.30pm to 7.30pm every Thursday . We also boast the cheapest beer prices during this time.
Football

South Augusta won its first premiership in 1918 and its last premiership in 2006. Since its inauguration it has won A grade flags in 1918, 1928, 1938, 1939, 1942, 1964, 1981, 1983, 1993 1994, 2000 and 2006.
The club has also won over 10 B grade grand finals since 1964 and has representatives from either A,B and Under 18's teams in the grand final for the last 18 years. In 2006 the A grade defeated Centrals by 60 points to win the A grade premiership.
Past players who have excelled at the highest level include Jeff Pash, (1939 Magarey Medallist), Craig Cock, (South Adelaide 200 game player), Pat Hynes , (Port Adelaide Grand Finalist), Dennis Russell, (Glenelg), Brian Bienke (Crows and Port Adelaide Magpies) and Jared Rivers ( Melbourne and Rising Star Award winner 2004). John Reid, current Football Manager for the Crows coached the team to a premiership in 1981.
The club gives every support to its juniors and 21 of the 22 players in the 2006 A Grade grand final team played colts for the club.
The club prides itself in its coaching staff from Under 9's upwards and has had an excellent success record within its juniors.

SOCIAL SCENE
Bands will be held from time to time after every club game and a Red and White ball is held through the year .
Other Sporting Clubs that associate with Souths include Table Tennis, Magpies Netball Club, Port Augusta Darts Association, Port Augusta Fishing Association and the South Cricket Club
Other functions held through the year include a golf day and Club Family Day for all members .
CLUB FACILITIES
A gym and spa bath are available for all members the large hall can be hired for weddings, birthdays or other functions throughout the year.
