Prospect Hill Museum aims to be a museum that helps people, both local and visiting, to understand the history of Prospect Hill village and surrounding district of the Adelaide Hills.
The museum presents the history of:
· Adelaide Hills farming, especially dairying, potato, and seed production.
· Rural domestic life and children's education.
· The impact of natural disasters on the village and district, such as the Ash Wednesday bushfires.
· Local gold diggings.
· Community life, centred around the Prospect Hill Post Office, telephone exchange and store (the current museum site).
