Open Sundays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, from the end of May until the end of August. From September 1 to May 30th the museum is open from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Also open by appointment only. Devenonshire tea available for large groups - booking required.

Prospect Hill Museum aims to be a museum that helps people, both local and visiting, to understand the history of Prospect Hill village and surrounding district of the Adelaide Hills.
The museum presents the history of:
- Adelaide Hills farming, especially dairying, potato, and seed production.
- Rural domestic life and children's education.
- The impact of natural disasters on the village and district, such as the Ash Wednesday bushfires.
- Local gold diggings.
- Community life, centred around the Prospect Hill Post Office, telephone exchange and store (the current museum site).
