Penneshaw is the gateway to Kangaroo Island but once you arrive here you’ll find the gateway is a destination in itself.

For those looking for a relaxing weekend or a bit of exercise, Penneshaw is the place. It has stunning views across Backstairs Passage to the Fleurieu Peninsula, abundant wildlife – wallabies, penguins, echidnas in the town itself – walking trails, quiet fishing spots, a golf course, a conservation park on the edge of town, and a gem of a local museum.
