Workshop – Tuesday 25 March, 7:30pm at the Harrogate Hall

The Northern Bremer Catchment Group is holding a workshop to share information about the Natural Resource Management Plans for the River Murray (SA portion) and the Adelaide region. Both plans have had consultation phases, and now are being presented to Governments as a blueprint for strategic decision making. A major thrust of the management plans is to implement sustainable water and land management practices in the catchments, including the probability of Government regulation over our local water and land resources in the future.

The aim of this workshop is to provide our community with information about the plans, and to give feedback about the implementation issues which are of concern to our regional community. The workshop leader will be Dr Kerri Muller, Senior Project Officer with the River Murray Catchment Water Management Board, based at Strathalbyn. The format of the evening will include an outline of the plans, a time for questions, and an opportunity to discuss and prioritise our local goals for the Bremer River catchment area.

The workshop is open to everyone who is interested in the future of the Bremer River catchment area, not just that part of the river around Harrogate. It is planned that the workshop will conclude around 9:30pm, followed by supper. An RSVP can be made to the above phone or Email, but is not essential.

We look forward to seeing you there.
