Competitions
Millicent holds the only state sanctioned gymnastics competition in the South East. The Millicent
invitational competition is held in the April school holidays and is well attended by Adelaide and
Victorian clubs. In addition, we travel to Adelaide and Victoria to compete. In June, our whole club
travels to Adelaide to compete at the Gymnastics S.A. Country Championships. We have won this title
for the last 5 consecutive years.

This year 38 gymnasts ranging in age from 5 to 16 will compete at these championships. The club will
compete in Level 1 to 7 for WAG (Womens Artistic Gymnastics) and from Level 1B to 4 for MAG
(Mens Artistic Gymnastics). Once the gymnasts reach Level 4 and above, we attend at least 2 competitions
in Adelaide. This year we will be attending the WAG Level 6 to 10 and MAG Level 4 to 10 State Championships
on the 29th June and the WAG Level 4 and 5 State Championships in August. Our gymnasts have won the title
of state champion in their level of competition several times.
Our other achievements include being awarded the title of the South Australian Club of the year in 1998.
In addition our head coach Sam Fensom won the South Australian Coach of the
Year in 1997. Gymnasts who have represented our club include Doug Harris-Walker
and Rachel Smith. Doug has been included in SA State teams and was a member of
the National Level 9 team who competed in the USA in 1999. Rachel was in the SA
State Level 7 team and was part of the SA team in 2000.
