Title: The Friends of Old Government House

Working in the gardens

The Friends of Old Government House are an active group of volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds with a common interest in preserving Old Government House. Members can be either Rostered or Associate members as detailed below.

The group enjoys a varied and much enjoyed social programme which all members are welcome to participate in. One of the most popular activities on the social programme is the Christmas Brunch.

Rostered Members (membership fee of $10 per annum) are those assisting with any of the following rosters:

Regular Roster: Showing visitors over the complex on Sundays and public Holidays.
On average rostered on once every 6-8 weeks.

Garden Group: Meets two mornings per month for light gardening.

Guided Tours: Occasional help on weekday tours.

Weddings in the garden: Occasional assistance as required.

Associate Membership (membership fee of $15 per annum) is available for people unavailable for rosters, but keen to give support in other ways.

The Annual General Meeting is held in March each year. Quarterly general meetings with a guest speaker are also held.
