Before the assets of the deceased can be distributed to the beneficiaries, the Executor may be required to apply to the Court for a Grant of Probate. This is a document that the Executor will need to get access to assets such as a bank account, shares in a company or real estate.

More clearly we say:- IF THE ASSETS ARE OF A PARTICULAR TYPE THEN A PROBATE WILL BE REQUIRED BUT IN MANY CASES “the Executor will NOT need PROBATE to get access to assets such as a bank account, shares in a company or real estate.”
