Invitation for Selected Chinese Woodprints Art of 20th Century 1900-1999 Exhibition

In conjunction with the Directors of SA Migration Museum, you and members of your esteemed organisations and friends are cordially invited to the en-thrilling Exhibition.

Hundreds of the origins of rare wood prints are brought to you from The Bureau for External Cultural Relations, Chinese Ministry of Culture, People' Republic of China, Centre of International Cultural Exchange.

Chinese calligraphy demonstration will be staged between 15/10/2007 and 26/10/2007 by our calligraphers.

世界诗人 吟咏八锦

今年7月18日至22日，第十一届广州(黄埔)国际诗人笔会在黄埔隆重召开。来自世界各国的97名著名华文诗人包括澳大利亚的郑会石聚集黄埔，诗坛佼佼，星光灿烂。围绕 “黄埔八锦”采风，写诗，吟诗，论诗，以诗会友，尽情交流。立碑植树，开辟 “国际诗林”，举行留手印仪式。仲夏的黄埔，踏歌古港，华彩乐章，喜气洋洋。

开幕典礼上，诗人贺敬之前辈说，诗心和民心是永远在一起的。祝愿所有进步的诗人在“诗愁(丝绸)之路”并肩歌唱，驶入人类向往的美好港湾。

96岁高龄的国学大师文怀沙以125分钟的时间，畅谈唐诗宋词，千古绝唱。对五四运动鲁迅，郭沫若掌故及文革诸环节，了如指掌，妙语如珠，掌声四起。强调，诗人最重要的是要有激情， “没有激情，理智也会瘫痪”！他认为，这届国际诗人笔会有着继往开来的作用。中国诗人要 “奇光之往应继，异彩之来待开”。要长东方诗人的志气。21世纪被称为是东方人的世纪。文老期望，东方的新诗，也应该继承好的传统，才能开 “异彩之来”。

岁月在黄埔积淀了深厚的历史文化遗迹，造就了丰富的人文旅游资源。作为海上丝绸之路发源地的南海神庙奠定了广州黄埔在中国对外文化史，贸易史，海运史上的重要地位。“百川亦汇归南海”/万国迎深舶御檣”，五 “羊”城成了五 “洋”城，把黄埔推上了国际平台，为“东洋”，“南洋”，大西洋，太平洋和印度洋的交汇点。20世纪初，在这里诞生了黄埔军校，使黄埔，成为中国新民主主义革命的摇篮。从此，人杰地灵，物华天宝的黄埔闻名于世，成为中外游人向往的地方。

滔滔珠江之水东进，沧海桑田之梦迭变，韩愈，苏东坡，陈献章，屈大均都曾在此讴歌抒怀. “扶胥之口，黄木之湾”， “忽惊鸟动行人起，飞上千峰紫翠间”，“谁能手抱阳和去，散入千岩万壑间”。杜甫，贾岛，文天祥，杨万里，汤显祖等，都在这里留下了闪亮的足印和瑰丽的诗篇。诗会结束，将编辑出版《诗世界》(黄埔版)刊登诗人吟咏黄埔 “八景”的诗作和50篇诗论。郑会石在《诗人的使命感和责任感》论文里谈到诗人对历史和时代应负的责任；也介绍了澳洲数位特出原住民诗人的创作成就。

七月的黄埔，花团锦簇，文化盛事连连。瑞典的仿古帆船 “哥德堡号”载着国王卡尔16世和王后在南海神庙前观看了盛大的祭海仪式。并参观南海神庙。神奇的黄埔，腾飞的黄埔，在诗人的笔下化为灿烂插翅的诗篇，飞扬四海。

SA Chinese Literature, History and Arts Exhibition

Association of SA Chinese Writers Exhibition 2007

The Exhibition is presented by Association of SA Chinese Writers as part of its 4th Anniversary celebration reflecting the significant roles immigrant Chinese writers have played by being part of the ASACW and the mainstream Australian literature landscape over the years.

A piece of brick from the Great Wall of China, swords used by members of “Boxer Rebellion”, ceramics and statues would be of interest to cross cultural communities. Likewise ma-gua and qipao from some significant figures, ornaments owned by merchants or collectors, and artefacts brought in by Australian missionaries who had gone overseas to bring them back are valuable exhibits. These transportations themselves have shown the early CONNECTION between South Australia and South East Asia, China, etc. The emphasis is on the cultural "connection" which went back to 1836 in SA history and the enrichment these connections have brought forth to Australian values and understanding.

We wish to thank SA Migration Museum and SA Museum who help make the organization of this Exhibition possible.
