| Opening
Day 10 October 2002 We began the transformation of the clubhouse earlier in the week with a major clean up on Tuesday. This included cleaning floors, vacuuming and garden maintenance. Car'mel offered her services in providing catering assistance for the big day. Needless to say it was well appreciated. The results speak for themselves. The day started early at 9.30am today for the start of proceedings which should begin approximately 12pm and go through until around three o'clock. We are expecting a good turn out today. Many invitations were sent out. Verbal expressions of interest were also shown. Allena Dyason on Talking Health, as well as The Advertiser advertised this event in their mental health week event calendar. We have had many hands on deck during our planning and maintenance phases. Many hands make light work and that has certainly proved to be accurate. Thanks to the people who helped clean and decorate for the opening. It was appreciated. At the close of business today 46 people, who were listed had accessed us, in our attendance book. As you may gather, room was in demand. There was a lot of positive feedback from those in attendance. Whyalla News also came to the opening. Many photos were taken and interviews given. The day has generated many promises of donations to the clubhouse. These should begin to come in the near future. |
