EMIB Chairman's Report
More than 270,000 books have now been distributed by Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs and the number of Clubs involved continues to grow. During the past twelve months, the Emergency Medical Information Book Project has continued to grow and be accepted by many Clubs throughout MD201. It is great to see Clubs take such an active interest in helping the members of their community. Earlier this year, I emailed every Club within the Multiple District 201 with a message trying to make contact with those Clubs who had not heard of this project. I did this because each year when I stand behind my EMIB display stall at the Multiple District Convention, people approach me and know nothing about the project, what is does or who it assists. This is disappointing because not only are my quarterly newsletters not getting through to all Clubs but so many people who suffer greatly or die, might have been helped if they had heard of the project and had an EMIB on the front of their refrigerator to assist the paramedics when called upon in a crisis. At the MD201 Convention in Hobart early in May this year, we were again fortunate to have the project approved for a further three years as a Category “B” Project and I would like to thank PCC Bill Holmes and PDG Rhys Roberts for their backing and support at the time of presenting the Notice of Motion. I would like to take this opportunity also, to thank all the members of the Blackwood Lions Club for their continued support and encouragement to keep this very worthwhile project alive and growing.

Blackwood Lions Christmas Pageant 2015, 4.12. 2015
The traditional Blackwood Lions Christmas Pageant takes place on Friday, 1st December 2017. The parade starts at 6.30 pm from the corner of Main Road / Gulfview Road in Blackwood and travels south on Main Road , then Young Street, then Waite Street and ending in the Waite Reserve behind Coles Supermarket. The parade takes usually 30 to 45 minutes, with between 70 and 80 floats or groups. Then Father Christmas will be sitting in his sled and handing out bags of sweets and he is the major draw card. Over 10 000 spectators usually will line the route annually with most moving to the Fair on Waite Reserve after the parade ends.
The Pageant is the 2nd oldest in the State (only the City of Adelaide Pageant is older) having been run for over 52 years.
It is a very popular, much looked forward to event.
