Welcome to Flinders Park Scout Group
Celebrating our 64th Year of Service to the Community in 2009.

Our Scout Group has a long history of providing scouting services to the Flinders Park area, and are part of the Scouts Australia (South Australian branch). We encourage a friendly family atmosphere where everyone is welcome and everyone has fun. Please browse through this site to find out more about us.

We run meetings and activities for children 6 - 8 years old (Joeys), 8 - 11 years old (Cubs) and 11 - 15 years (Scouts). For older children, 14 - 18 years, the North Western District Team runs a Venturers Unit and for those 18 - 26 years the Bloo Rover Crew operate and run themselves within the District.

Parents  who wish to be involved can also join in by becoming a member of the Group Support Team and helping with fundraising, activities and social events. This is usually good fun and  families can spend time doing activities together and with friends. Some parents want to become more involved and become P.A.Ls (Parents Assisting Leaders) or join as leaders.

Would You Like to Become Involved?

To become a P.A.L. you need to fill in a form and agree to a police check. There is a one day training session to help you know more than the children, then you come along each week and assist leaders at the section meetings. You can choose in which section you want to become involved, as well as help on camps and outings.

To become a Leader you need to fill in a form and agree to a police check, then there are training days to attend. To be a qualified leader and take charge at section meetings and camps you need to complete this training so you know the safety standards and have administration and scouting knowledge to become successful.

A successful group has good enthusiastic leaders who run exciting and safe programs for the children, appropriate to their age, and keep them interested in coming along. We also try to have some fun activities that the whole family can join in and get to know one another. this makes for a helpful and harmonious group.
