How come I got an 'A' for Biology and a 'D' for Motherhood?

If I knew it was going to be this hard I might not have volunteered. Dealing with lack of sleep, support and surrender.

Somedays being a mother is just plain 'hard work'. You get woken often before the sun has had a chance to rise and from the moment your feet hit the floor you are on the run. Breakfast, nappies, washing, dressing, phone ringing, baby crying, hair in tangles, dog barking (did I feed her last night?), husband cranky (no loo paper). Before you know it, its lunchtime and you haven't even had breakfast yet.

A vegimite sandwhich whilst driving to the supermarket, and when you finish shopping you pay the bills and pick up the 'big kids' from school. Homework time whilst you make dinner, water the garden, feed the chooks (dog still looks hungry - have I fed her?) and hang out the washing. Family eats, whilst telemarketers drive you insane and you finish your soup whilst washing the dishes. Brush teeth, bedtime stories, say thier prayers and finally you can rest. You sit down with your husband and the next thing you know is that you have fallen asleep in front of the tele and everyone else is in bed. The remains of your cold dinner look so appetizing you feed them to the dog and you stumble into bed.........

At times it can all seem a little too much, especially if you have young children who don't sleep the night through.  Motherhood can make you feel like this.....

......................sometimes.

I ask myself often is this what being a mother is all about? One endless list of jobs, broken sleep and a laundry full of dirty clothes.

More to come.....sooon.
