The Wise Men They laid their offerings at his feet; Each gift given to Jesus has a prophetic statement to make about His life. Jesus is our high priest who speaks for us to God, He is the King of all Kings and He was crucified for our sins. Did the wise men know this about Jesus? Is that why they chose these gifts? Take a look at what the scriptures say. I always just assumed there were three.....there are three gifts that they brought. But does it say there are 3 wise men. No it actually doesn't say how many wise men there were. This concept is really true with many different doctrines, and believes that we have. We just listen to what others tell us and don't check it out and search the scriptures for ourselves. I challenge you to see what God's word really says and base your beliefs on the Word and not others peoples opinions. Here are a few verses of scripture that deal with this: 
There are many explanations about just what this star was. Some suggest a comet, some an Angelic being and others say that it was an astrological event where certain stars appear together in the sky.
