* Membership renewals can be started soon and a rubber stamp for receipt book has been purchased.

* $2,500 grant has been received from Barossa Council and part of this can go towards photographic collection needs?

* Ron to check on the cemetery signs and a way to improve their readability.

* Barry advised that the new road will be called Turner’s Lane. This is due to the fact that the hill that it joins is known as Butchers Hill/Turner’s Hill.

CORRESPONDENCE:
IN:
*
Council re $2,500 cheque and would like the EFT details. Ron to investigate.
* Angaston Street Christmas Parade is on Friday, November 28. Turner’s Van should go in procession. Ron to ask Scott Agars if he could drive the van in the parade.
* Heritage Grant Fund Application SHP0010/08 has been applied for. Should get reply Sept./Oct?
* Greer McDonald will visit on September 3 around 3.30 p.m. at the Chapel. Bill and interested people to attend. Any ideas are to be emailed to Bill prior to the meeting. It is an opportunity to set up a workshop and to find out what we need in the future and for her to advise the society of how to plan the future. Setting up a budget could be worthwhile?
* Fruits of Angaston – Barry is progressing nicely with this project and has become very enthused in it. A display was held in the Town Hall during the Vintage Festival of 1995 to do with Angaston Fruit industry and mining. Any idea of who organised it would be appreciated. Bill suggested that Brian Hurn may have been the person in charge of the Angaston activities that year?

* Penrice Mine Community concerns will be raised at another meeting this Thursday night.

No treasurer’s report, however around $4,500 in the account.

OTHER BUSINESS:
* Material in the Chapel’s small room in relation to the Angaston Railway Station is also to be moved to Ian’s along with the Town Hall stuff when appropriate.
* Elizabeth and Bill commented on their recent interstate trip of the many towns that had museum type buildings and restaurants/hotels or similar that had photographic displays on their walls of the history of the particular town. It would be ideal to have this type of thing in Angaston if suitable buildings could be found, eg. former National Bank which Barry will look into.

* The background to the naming of Volunteer Avenue/Schilling Street was also discussed. Anthony has some info.

* The Golden Grain (Laucke Mill history) and History of Greenock (by Geoff Saegenschnitter) have been donated to the society. Elizabeth and Bill have borrowed these.
