There are also various winter meets as per Swimming SA website.

This year Whyalla will be holding its first Winter Competition in August

Whyalla has scheduled country competitions which gain points towards end of year trophy presentation however swimmers can swim in any Swimming SA meet.

Country Champions are held every year in January

State Champtions are held every year in Janaury

Open Water Swims are held at Port Augusta, Port Pirie and Whyalla

Local Time Trials

Time Trials are held normally fortnightly throughout the summer season however the dates and times are schedule at the beginning of each season.  Keep watch for this information.

Fundraising

Whyalla Swimming Club has a catering van which they use to fundraise toward the swimmers development and coaching development. We welcome all members and families to assist us with fundraising.  We normally like to roster to ensure many hands make light work however we find that the socialising between parents is one of the most benifical areas when we have fundraising.

We welcome new ideas and suggestions.

The committee welcomes any input from anyone as the whole club is run on volunteer parents and families.

Fun / Social Activities

We try and have social activities through out the year.  As the committee are very busy in many other job to ensure our swimmers have the best opportunities possible we welcome anyone who wishes to organise a “Fun/Social” activity to let the committee know.  Dates can be set and helpers can be sought.

We have had a variety of activities over the past few year such as:

·         Fun Bike Ride to Port Lowly

·         Port Lowly beach activities

·         Car Rally followed by a BBQ Lunch

·         Club trips to Adelaide with some Laser Skimish and Bowling

·         Development camps from funding

·         Swim – a – Thon

·         There seems to be also the spur of the moment activities like congregating at the beach with canoes, Mr. Beaty’s new toy the jet ski and swimming
