"U3A" Who are we, and what do we do?
Firstly we are a social group, secondly we are a great bunch of people and thirdly, maybe you can learn something while having fun.
U3A people are 50 plus years; like to mix with others, to learn a bit, laugh a bit, and enjoy fellowship of other like minded people (we have all types so I'm sure you'll fit in).
U3A stands for University of the 3rd Age. (not very explanatory name I know)
It represents the 3rd stage of life; where you should be able to do almost anything you please; because your children have left home (hopefully) and you are thinking a little more about yourself.
By the way, you don't have to be well of or drive a car. Many of our members are on a pension, and the bus runs just past the front as we are close to the Tea Tree Plaza.
There are more social activities if you wish to be involved, they range from visits to the Old Parliament House, Police Museum to the Airport Control Tower and many others . . . .
How do we do this?
At first most people are a bit nervous about the unknown, absolutely natural, because I was and I'm a cool dude.
Don't fear you may be too dense to enroll in some of the courses, you're not, and besides you will soon learn a little at a time, while having fun.
If you think "I can't learn anything from these other oldies" be warned, there are some cleaver oldies around our corridors, very nice ones of course.
Now get going
First the full U3A rules:
Are you 50 plus, not working more than 20 hours a week, and alive?
Congratulations you have passed the test, and now for the course selections and enrollment.
