About S.A.Z.A

The South Australian Zimbabwe Association(SAZA) is a community organisation for Zimbabweans and their friends who are in South Australia. It was formed in 2005 and all Zimbabweans in South Australia and their friends can apply to become members.

Objectives of SAZA:

  • Provide a venue for community members with common interests to meet and undertake activities in a friendly and social atmosphere:

    1. Sport: netball, soccer, tennis, volleyball
    2. Social events: Weddings, Parties, Baby showers etc.
    3. Cultural events: Tradional music and dance and keeping our languages(Ndebele & Shona) alive among the youth growing in Australia
    4. Assist community members during difficult personal circumstances e.g.funerals, unemployment.


  • Be the contact point for community members with other communities within and beyond South Australia:

    1. govenment departments
    2. visiting delegates from Zimbabwe and beyond who may be of interest to community members.


  • Provide information to others who may want to come and live in South Australia from Zimbabwe: e.g information about work, schools, accommodation, food, climate.


  • Assist recent arrivals as much as possible as they resettle in a new environment .


  • Promote Zimbabwe positively within our community and beyond



Management of SAZA Affairs:

SAZA is managed by a voluntary management committee,velected every year by the community members as per the SAZA constitution. The management committee is made up of ten members. The committee has three key focus areas that have designated co-ordinators to cater for the specific groups namely, the youth, women and men .
