MISSION STATEMENT

Reynella Neighbourhood Centre Inc. will work to provide resources and services which respond to community need and promote the wellbeing of individuals, families and groups.

We will endeavour to:

• establish and support groups and activities focusing on social interaction, community development, recreation, sport, health, fitness and fun.
• provide accessible and diverse life-long learning opportunities to all ages through quality programs and activities
• provide a broad range of opportunities to local people for volunteer participation and growth in managing and operating a community organisation or group, thereby encouraging and promoting community and civic pride
• address social injustice through advocacy, lobbying, social action and support
• provide a pleasant and welcoming environment for staff, volunteers and all community member

SHORT TERM PLAN 2009-2010

Goal 1. Regain use of the Cottage - make this a top priority as the facility is under used

Goal 2. Focus on meeting needs of local Seniors, particularly isolated Seniors. Identify partners, look for funding support and transport support for outings.

Goal 3. Focus on the needs of our Volunteers: allocate a bigger budget, record their achievements, communicate better, and help them achieve the training they need, try to attract more men.

Goal 4. Improve our marketing of Reynella Neighbourhood Centre - Look for new opportunities to inform people about our services, work to improve our surroundings and facilities

LONG TERM PLAN 2009-2010

Goal 1. Work to regain use of cottage and upgrade new programs

Goal 2. Improve parking - ripples in car park, more spaces, better flow for traffic, safer access. And more space eg. Cottage parking. Add under cover parking for gophers

Goal 3. Enlarge office/reception area - build out into back garden area.

Goal 4. Investigate need for Youth Programs and act on indicators/recommendations.Work more closely with Council staff and other Youth Service providers to gather necessary information.NOTE: The Community Engagement Team eg. may be able to assist with this aim.

Goal 5. Increase the paid staff hours in the Centre eg.Fulltime CDO, more paid hours for administration
