As a part of the Clubs dedication to helping the Micro-Economic environment of the local community, it initiated the 'Outdoor Eating Area Project' under the Federal Government 'Work for the Dole' Program & Employment Directions. The Program is giving education, experience and self confidence to participants, whom we welcome as volunteers for the Club. The main part of the project is building the roofed Outdoor Area (which is now completed) to cater for up to 50 visitors with lunch before a tour of the complex and Fishlab. As well as John from J's ENTERPRISES Computer Services with his continued support & doing this website & the Club having these updates... Next project to be started are the Toilet Blocks to be a part of the Restraunt for the Maritime Musuem.... The volunteers set out the building project, laid the paved floor, dug the trenches for the mains power supply, set up the community gardens that will also supply vegetables and herbs for the kitchen. They erected the signs at the main entrance and are completing the landscaping. The volunteers are also gaining knowledge, experience & certificates in boat handling and sailing, along with experience in boatbuilding and restoration in the workshop. The whole program has been a great help to the Club and a real success to-date, making a further project a possibility(the toilet blocks next).
