Since the club's inception, many men and women members, including present members, have amassed well in excess of 100,000 service hours - all voluntary.
Membership is open to men and women of good moral character and good reputation in their community. Membership is very often the start if a life-long interest and provides the opportunity to experience the social side also.
Involvement in service is very satisfying, never demanding not obligating at any particular time. Present members are willing, and eager, to offer the benefits and opportunities that Blackwood Club and the Lions Association provide to other men and women. Pride in being a Lion causes one to want to share the good fortune with others.
A Blackwood Lion of 35 continuous years of service recently said, "The most rewarding benefit I have experienced in my time in Lions has been the ongoing and genuine friendships. To invite another person to join Lions is to give them the opportunity for self-satisfaction, lasting friendships and personal development."
