What is Horticultural Therapy?
"Horticultural Therapy is defined as a process of plants and garden related activities to promote well-being of mind, body and spirit." (HTAV)
Who is involved with Horticultural Therapy?
Horticultural Therapy is used by diversional therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, nurses, allied health workers, activity workers, horticulturalists and many others to involve individuals and groups in gardening for therapeutic reasons.
Our Purpose
- To raise the profile of Horticultural Therapy and it benefits in the community.
- To increase the support of Horticultural Therapy in South Australia.
- To provide opportunities for building knowledge and sharing skills amongst those using Horticultural Therapy and garden related activities.
- To establish links with similar organisations around Australia and overseas.
When & Where
HTSA meets informally on the first Wednesday of the month at 6.30pm. Each meeting takes us to a new and interesting Horticultural Therapy program or garden in the community.
