Welcome to the Friends of Cox Scrub

COX SCRUB - SPRING WALK

The annual spring walk in COX SCRUB will be held on Sunday 30th September from 1 pm to 3 pm. This walk is organised by the Friends of Cox Scrub who have been conducting the walk for about four years.

Meet at Gate 2 which is 1.2 km south of the main Cox Scrub Car Park on  Bull Creek Road, (locally known as the Meadows to Goolwa Road). Look for signs.

Cox Scrub Conservation Park covers an area of 550 hectares and is home to more than 330 plant species. For the Spring Walk, members of the Friends group have focused on a small area which has an easily seen concentration of flowering plants.

Three walking trails fan out from Gate 2, and on one of those trails we plan to have many of the flowering plants and shrubs identified with signs.

Members of the Friends group will be on hand with lists of plant species as well as information on the history of the park, birds, reptiles and other animals that can be found there.

In past years the scrub has put on a wonderful show of spring flowering plants and following recent rains we anticipate another good display. The walk should only take about an hour, but people taking photos or just enjoying the beauty of the park may linger longer.

More information about the walk will appear closer to the event on this website and on our Facebook page.
