GREEN HUB DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

Coromandel Community Centre is being supported by the City of Onkaparinga to become a Green Hub demonstration project.

Peter Schulz - a retired art lecturer in the School of Art and Design Education, University of SA (Underdale) will continue to teach various approaches to art including use of line, tone, shading, texture, pen and wash, colour media and introduction to watercolour for all levels.

THE DAYTIME ADULT ART COURSE IS FULLY SUBSCRIBED AT PRESENT. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST MAY BE MADE BY CONTACTING THE CENTRE ON 8370 6880

Two sessions to cater for all.

Wednesdays, commencing April 30th, 2008, 10.15am-12.45pm.

Introduction to Drawing

Peter Schulz is also leading this introductory course for beginners and those with limited experience.  The use of line, tone shading and texture will be explored.  This course is fully subscribed at present but expressions of interest are welcomed.

Celebrate Your Memories

Scrapbooking - each week a new page layout or idea will be learnt.  All tools, instruction and materials are included in the class.  Please bring about 10-12 photos each week to work on, along with your own scissors, pencil and eraser.

Creative Textile Group

An inspirational group for people who love working with fibre, fabric and threads. 

Lyn Radcliff (A.T.I.) runs weekly classes that experiment with a variety of materials.  Join her to develop your ideas and record observations. You'll be amazed at the beautiful pieces you will produce!  If you love a laugh while you create then this is the group for you.  

Beginners welcome!  Crèche available on request.

  Pre and Post Natal fitness

Pre and post natal fitness classes aimed at pre and post parents! - mothers are encouraged to bring their babies with them for the workout.

Learn ways to exercise that can then be transferable to your own home.

Suitable for all ages and fitness levels this course is led by an experienced and qualified instructorChristine Dippy, and takes place each Wednesday morning from 9.00am until 10.00am. Under the guidance of Ros Schulz (BA, Dip T) come along and improve your writing skills. Learn ways to trigger your writing about the things you love in different forms; story, anecdote, poem, article, memoir. Tap into your unique personal narrative.  Enjoy interaction with other writers.

Get Going, Stay Active

Easy Walking

Keep fit by regular walking throughout Autumn and Winter with a friendly supportive walking groupBased on the Feldenkrais method, sessions will assist you to find your balance and confidence in movement...The Easy Walking Project is an initiative of the Feldenkrais Guild (SA) Division supported by the Australian Govt's Healthy Active Australia Community Grants program.  The Blackwood/Coromandel Valley Group meet at the Centre 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month to provide discussion, information, sharing and support. The group also organises special activities. Mums and Dads are welcome to come along and have a cuppa and a chat before discussion starts.

Coromandel Valley Quilters

This is a group for anyone interested in taking up this creative and rewarding pastime. They meet 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 7.00pm to 10.00pm or the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 1.00pm to 3.00pm at the Centre and this long term group provides a friendly environment in which to learn and improve skills which will enable members to undertake individual and group projects.

The Coromandel Valley Community Association

Second Monday of the month, 7.30pm.

The AGM of the association will be held at 7.30pm on June 4th at the Centre.  Professor Chris Daniels, professor of Environmental Ecology at Uni SA will speak on the topic :  The most important room in the house.  The great Australian backyard is under threat and that could spell disaster for our children and our health.  All are welcome to attend.

The Table Tennis Group

The Table Tennis Group - a social group which takes place from 1.00pm to 4pm on Tuesdays. Cost per player is $4 a session.  Sessions continue during school holidays.
