Bridges & Pathways Institute Inc / Southern Chronic Illness Links Network is an Australian not-for-profit charity dedicated to improving information and services for Australians with non priority complex chronic conditions towards Australian better health management and living well.

Our Focus

While we help people with their immediate needs, we focus particularly on the long term changes that Australia needs to make if we are to treat complex chronic conditions better. We work to improve the information and services that are available to sufferers, and to focus on policy, research and funding to improve health and quality of life.

Since 2001 we have provided services for over 6000 Australians who live with:
  • Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS), evidence based guidelines are now available!
  • Persistent pain syndromes
  • Post Infection Syndromes
  • Myalgic Encephalomyelitis much can be done to limit or prevent unnecessary disability!
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndromes ME/CFS
  • Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) (hot link to a new MCS page)
  • Post Stress Syndromes
  • other associated or overlapping functional syndrome disorders
  • other clients who fall through the gaps of current Australian health, disability and community service programs and services.

Australian Approach To Management and Care!

While the causes of these conditions are still unclear, much can be done through potentially effective community level treatments coordinated by General Practitioners, and which are consistent with the new Allied Health Medicare Plus and Australian Better Health Initiatives. This requires an accurate diagnosis and early intervention towards a tailored monitored management care plan.

Funding and Donations!

We appreciate our supporters. B & P is funded by Grants sponsorships and Donations and the generous work of our many volunteers.
