What is AccessGlobe?

The AccessGlobe Logo.

AccessGlobe is an open source Second Life/Opensim viewer software which builds upon existing implementations to incorporate common standards of accessibility and offer greater functionality and support for those with disabilities. It is being produced as one of the main deliverables of the Australian Learning and Teaching Council funded Open Source Accessible 3D Virtual Learning Platform project.

AccessGlobe features:
  • Enhanced menus, redesigned with colour and visual limitations in mind.
  • Control alternatives to relying on mouse driven interaction.
  • Audio visual cues and voices to help visually impaired login and follow conversations.
